The Ultimate Workshop -- Stationary Power Tools

Once you've planned the basic layout of your workshop -- preferably following the "work triangle" principle discussed in the first episode of this series -- then you're ready to decide on the exact placement for your primary equipment.

The equipment you'll be placing will naturally depend on the type of work you'll be doing in your shop. Ours is geared toward woodworking and carpentry, so the pieces of stationary equipment include a table saw, jointer and band saw. In this segment, David Thiel, of Popular Woodworking magazine, offers some advice on using and placing stationary power tools.
